Description
- A smooth and silky chocolate cream pie made with cocoa, eggs, milk, and topped with whipped cream for a classic homemade dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups white sugar
- 3 large egg yolks, beaten
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 3 cups milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 (9-inch) pie crust, baked
- 1 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed
Instructions
- Beat sugar and egg yolks until creamy.
- Add cocoa, cornstarch, and salt; blend well.
- Gradually stir in milk until smooth.
- Cook over medium heat until thickened, about 5–7 minutes.
- Remove from heat; stir in butter and vanilla.
- Pour into crust and chill for 2–4 hours.
- Top with whipped cream and serve.
Notes
- For the best flavor, use Dutch-processed cocoa. Let the pie chill fully before slicing.
