- Crispy, golden churros coated in cinnamon sugar, made with just a few simple ingredients. The perfect quick dessert for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 2 ½ tablespoons white sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 quarts oil for frying
- ½ cup white sugar, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Combine water, sugar, salt, and oil in a saucepan; bring to a gentle boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour until the dough forms a ball.
- Heat oil in a deep pot or fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Transfer dough to a pastry bag fitted with a star tip.
- Pipe 5–6-inch strips into the hot oil, frying 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove churros with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon together and roll the warm churros in the coating.
- Serve immediately with chocolate or caramel sauce.
Notes
- Fresh churros taste best right after frying. For dipping, try melted chocolate, caramel, or dulce de leche. If you prefer smaller portions, pipe mini churros for bite-sized snacks.
