Description

  • Crispy, golden churros coated in cinnamon sugar, made with just a few simple ingredients. The perfect quick dessert for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 ½ tablespoons white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 quarts oil for frying
  • ½ cup white sugar, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Combine water, sugar, salt, and oil in a saucepan; bring to a gentle boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour until the dough forms a ball.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pot or fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Transfer dough to a pastry bag fitted with a star tip.
  5. Pipe 5–6-inch strips into the hot oil, frying 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Remove churros with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Mix sugar and cinnamon together and roll the warm churros in the coating.
  8. Serve immediately with chocolate or caramel sauce.

Notes

  • Fresh churros taste best right after frying. For dipping, try melted chocolate, caramel, or dulce de leche. If you prefer smaller portions, pipe mini churros for bite-sized snacks.
