Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups quick-cooking oats
  • Nonstick cooking spray with flour
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar


Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. Whisk flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt together.
  3. Beat butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients, then fold in oats.
  6. Chill dough for 1 hour.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F and prepare cookie sheets.
  8. Roll dough into balls, flatten slightly, and bake 8–10 minutes.
  9. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to rack.

Notes

  • Chill dough for thicker cookies.
  • Use half white and half brown sugar for ideal chewiness.
