Description
Classic chewy oatmeal cookies with cinnamon and brown sugar. Easy to make, perfectly soft, and full of home-baked flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups quick-cooking oats
- Nonstick cooking spray with flour
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients.
- Whisk flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt together.
- Beat butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients, then fold in oats.
- Chill dough for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F and prepare cookie sheets.
- Roll dough into balls, flatten slightly, and bake 8–10 minutes.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to rack.
Notes
- Chill dough for thicker cookies.
- Use half white and half brown sugar for ideal chewiness.
- Store in airtight container up to 5 days.
