Ingredients
- 2 cups butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Beat softened butter and sugar together with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Stir in vanilla; add flour gradually, mixing until a smooth dough forms.
- Fill cookie press with dough and form cookies onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them 1½ inches apart.
- Bake until edges just begin to turn golden brown, about 10–12 minutes.
- Cool on a wire rack and store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Use room-temperature butter for best results.
- Do not overmix after adding flour.
- For variation, add lemon zest or dip cooled cookies in chocolate.
